Who We Are

More than 40 years ago a group of believers came together and formed an independent, non-denominational church. They established Fellowship Bible Church in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. Our style of worship is casual with hymn singing, praying, preaching, and fellowship!

What We Believe at FBC

GOD

We Believe that the one true God exists eternally in three distinct persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. God is all powerful, all knowing, everywhere present, sovereign, unchangeable, holy, just, and loving. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

JESUS CHRIST

We Believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner, born of Mary, a virgin, and that He is the Son of God and God, the Son, and that He lived a sinless life. We believe that Jesus Christ died a substitutionary death for sinners and arose bodily from the grave. He ascended into Heaven and will return bodily and visibly to the earth just as He left.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity and is co-equal with God the Father and God the Son; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement; that He is the supernatural agent in regeneration; that He indwells all believers and seals them unto the day of redemption; and that He empowers, teaches, and guides believers.

THE WORD

We believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Word of God, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament as originally written, that it was verbally and plenarily inspired and is the product of Spirit- controlled men and is therefore infallible and inerrant in its content and is the final authority for faith and practice.

THE NEW BIRTH

We believe, because of the sin of Adam (the first human being and the father of mankind), all of his descendants (except Jesus Christ) are sinners who stand condemned before God and are in need of His salvation. Moreover, it is only through personal faith in the person and the work of Jesus Christ (not by the sinner's meritorious works of any kind) that one can receive forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and membership in God's church.

THE CHURCH

We believe that the local New Testament church is to be composed of regenerated, immersed believers, voluntarily united together for the purpose of worship, education, ordinances, fellowship, and service; that the officers of the church are pastors, elders, and deacons whose qualifications and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures; that the mission of the church is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men, women, and children in the local community, and to the uttermost part of the earth; that the local church has the right to self-government, free from the interference of any individuals or organizations, religious or political; that the one and only Head is Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.
